Mr Kirk has still not been found

THERE has been no progress made in the search for Kevin Kirk, the elderly man who went missing from Brunswick Heads on Monday.

Byron Bay duty officer Inspector Owen King said members of the local community had joined police in the search yesterday but there were no clues to Mr Kirk’s whereabouts.

A worrying aspect of the case was that the dog Mr Kirk had been walking when he disappeared belonged to someone else and had not returned home, Insp King said.

Police had checked Mr Kirk’s bank accounts and there was no money missing so it was unlikely that he had left the area of his own volition.

Mr Kirk, 70, was last seen walking the dog through the Ferry Reserve Caravan Park about 9.30am on Monday.

He is European, with a light, thin build, grey hair and a limp. When last seen he was wearing a T-shirt and shorts.
