AS HOLLYWOOD blockbuster The Hangover Part II enjoys box office success, the family of a Fraser Coast stuntman critically injured in the making of the movie are not happy with an insensitive scene that has been used in the film's trailer and in the movie itself.

The offending scene shows Susan River's Scott McLean leaning out of a car window during a high-speed car chase along a busy Bangkok street.

The vision was shot moments before he suffered his life-threatening injuries.

Mr McLean was badly hurt when the car he was in collided with a truck.

The veteran stuntman received serious head injuries and was rushed to a Thai hospital where he was placed in an induced coma for two months.

In February a specially modified aircraft, fitted out with full medical facilities, was used to transfer him to specialist care in Sydney.

Mr McLean's family has criticised his inclusion in the movie preview.

“To have that scene used in the preview is a real kick in the face to all those who know Scott. It is sickening to watch, as we all know what happens next,” Mr McLean's sister-in-law Michelle McLean told the Sydney press over the weekend.

Yesterday Mr McLean's partner, Raelene Chapman, said the family was going through a difficult time.

“It's been a rough week, a very rough week for us but we'd rather not say anything else about it,” she said.

The trailer for the movie has been run extensively on television throughout Australia.
