Motorcyclist killed in crash at McLeans Ridges

A 20-year male died after he failed to negotiate a turn on his motorbike while travelling south on Cowlong Road, McLeans Ridges on Saturday night around 8pm.

Police were notified on Sunday morning after the victim was spotted by a motorist at 10am.

No other vehicles were believed to have been involved in the collision.

The motorcycle rider was on a red Yamaha XT 250 when he crashed on a bend and collided heavily with a mulberry tree, Lismore police said.

An autopsy may be performed, but police believe the victim was unlikely to have survived the initial impact, based on the extent of his injuries.
