Violent robbery at Lismore KFC

TWO men are assisting police with their inquiries following the robbery of a cash-in-transit employee at Lismore this morning.

The brazen daylight robbery at Lismore KFC was foiled by a fast police response.

Two 18-year-old men allegedly assaulted a private money courier, outside KFC, who was taking cash to the bank about 9.30am.

They escaped on foot.

As a result of the incident the courier suffered facial injuries but did not require any medical treatment.

A crime scene has been established at the fast food restaurant and is in the process of being examined by specialist crime scene officers and local detectives.

A sum of cash has also been recovered by police.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the robbery or who may have information that could assist the investigation to contact Lismore Police on (02) 6626 0599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
