A BIG thanks to everyone who took the plunge and voted in yesterday's poll for Photo of the Day. The choice was a particularly tough one with four extraordinary images to choose from - something that was reflected in the voting.

The poll came down to a tight result between this image by Roseanne Birmingham and a nuanced image of a cane fire at Teven, by Graeme McDonald. Two other outstanding photos were submitted by Mykayla Wilton and Brendan Smoother.

Today, for the first time in this series, we have been able to publish the beautiful images that haven't been selected for Photo of the Day. You'll find them on Page 7 of today's paper. It's a small sample of the many spectacular images contributed for Photo of the Day over the past month and it's something we plan to do again.

To submit an image for Photo of the Day, head to our Facebook page and share it. The Photo of the Day appears on Page 2 of the paper, as the cover image on our Facebook page and in an expanding gallery, which you can see below.

FOR tomorrow's Photo of the Day we have six images to choose from. Have a look at the poll below and choose your favourite. You can see bigger versions of the images in this gallery.

Voting closes at noon.
