Mayfield Estate gets 200 more lots

MORE than 200 new residential lots will be able to be developed at the Mayfield Estate in Kyogle after an amendment to the local environmental plan was approved by the NSW Department of Planning this week.

The Mayfield Estate area has now been zoned as a ‘village’.

A 16ha area on Kyogle Road was also approved for general industrial development.

Kyogle mayor Ross Brown said Mayfield Estate was an ‘exciting development’.

“It will provide greater supply and choice for housing within the town of Kyogle, having a mix of higher ridge lines and lower slopes for construction of residential development, incorporating large areas of open space and stormwater quality treatment areas,” he said.

“There will also be further opportunities for general, heavier type industries to establish along Kyogle-Murwillumbah Road, which will further consolidate this area as an industrial node and provide additional employment opportunities.”
