More child sex charges against former Woodlawn teacher

A FORMER St Johns College Woodlawn teacher accused of molesting students has been charged with six additional offences.

Richard O'Connor initially faced 36 charges relating to alleged offences against 10 victims between 1978 and 1989.

In September last year an additional 13 charges were laid against O'Connor, then at Lismore Local Court yesterday it was revealed police had laid an extra six charges.

O'Connor is now facing a total of 56 child sex related charges.

Allegations include he had non-consensual sex with some victims, incited some victims to masturbate in front of him and incited some to touch his penis.

Magistrate R Denes adjourned O'Connor's matters until a date in June when it is anticipated he will committed to stand trial in the District Court.

O'Connor, who has been refused bail, will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
