Modifieds on the home stretch
V8 DIRT Modifieds will make their final appearance of the season at Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway this Saturday night.
The Modifieds will be supported with race action for Wingless Sprintcars, Junior Sedans, Production Sedans, Street Stocks, National Four Cylinder Sedans and AMCA Nationals.
It has been another strong season for the V8 Dirt Modifieds with good fields on hand for the major events.
"The V8 Dirt Modifieds are a very popular category at the venue,” promoter David Lander said.
"Their high speed brand of racing is always very exciting and their wheel hiking action makes these cars a great spectacle. It has been pleasing to see strong entry lists throughout the season and the division will finish the season on a high note this weekend.”
The nominations for Saturday night are headed by recently-crowned New South Wales champion Andrew Pezzutti, who is currently in great form.
Pezzutti is a five times state titleholder and one of the best performed drivers at the Lismore Showground venue over many years.
Also in the starting line-up is former NSW champ Phil McNamara, while other contenders entered include Brent Hall, Andrew Firth, Trevor Blanch, Ray Eggins, Scott Quirk and Tony Dunn.
A formidable Wingless Sprintcar entry list also has been received by race officials.
Recent Driver to America series season premiership winner David Eggins hopes to continue on his winning way, while last-start Lismore feature race winner Robbie Mazzer has also entered, along with strong runners Mick Santin, Kevin Willis, Warren King, Trent Martin, Brad Claridge, Mason Cattell and Matthew Wright.
Interest also focuses on young Natasha Herne, who is the daughter of former multi-Australian V8 Dirt Modifieds champion Stuart Herne.
Herne is showing good progress in the early stages of her Wingless Sprintcar career and is improving with every drive.
Gates open at 3pm. Racing starts at 6pm.
