A WOMAN reported missing from Sydney is believed to be on the Mid North Coast after catching a train bound for Coffs Harbour.
The disappearance of Patricia Beaton, 46, also known as Patricia Petersen, sparked an air, land and sea search in Sydney last Friday, yet police have since learnt the missing woman may be in the local area.
Ms Beaton disappeared from the Sydney Lakeside Caravan Park and police are concerned for her welfare.
She was due to check out of the park on Tuesday, but the manager called police after her belongings were left behind and she could not be located.
Police said there are serious concerns for her welfare as she suffers from health conditions requiring medication.
"It's very upsetting - it's very bad. Me and my sister's daughter Megan are very worried," Ms Beaton's sister Jayne told media.
Police investigating Patricia's disappearance found CCTV footage of her boarding the North Coast CountryLink Xplorer train at Sydney's Central Station last week bound for Coffs Harbour on Tuesday.
Police say it is thought Patricia may have also visited a Port Macquarie supermarket on Saturday afternoon.
Anyone who might have seen Patricia and knows her current whereabouts should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
