A HELICOPTER and land search is expected to resume on Sunday for a 13-year-old boy who went missing from Twin Waters on Saturday.

Queensland police last night issued an amber alert for the teenager.

The boy was last seen riding his bike about 4pm and had not contacted family or friends since.

Police hold concerns for his welfare as it is out of character for him not to return.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, between about 168cm tall with curly, dark-coloured hair.

He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black bicycle helmet, striped shorts and bright blue Nike shoes.

He was last seen riding a black mountain bike with a green strip on the cross bar.

He is understood to be a local boy and potentially a student of St Johns College, Nambour.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
