QUEENSLAND trainer Tony Crane has declared Mightysui a good thing in today's XXXX Gold Lismore Cup - but with one proviso.

"It all depends if the top weight (Collar) starts," Crane said yesterday.

"He is the only one that can beat me.

"None of the others are of any concern and you can include Uno Five in that group."

Crane has also accepted with Mightysui at Doomben on Saturday, one of four horses in the cup that are dual acceptors.

"I am pretty sure we will be going to Lismore but nothing is certain in racing until we turn up on the day," Crane said.

"A decision will also depend on where Collar starts.

"The Lismore Cup is the race we have set him for and I would much rather win a cup race for the owners than an ordinary old handicap at Doomben."

Cessnock trainer Jeremy Sylvester has accepted with Collar and Uno Five in the cup and has also accepted with both horses at Doomben.

Collar is also nominated for the Port Macquarie Cup Prelude on Sunday.

Sylvester declared on Tuesday that Uno Five, the form horse of the field, would definitely start in the cup, while he would delay a decision on Collar until the last minute.

Mightysui has found a new lease of life since Crane took over training the seven-year-old in May.

In seven starts he has won three races and had little luck at his last start when seventh to Coworth Park and Uno Five at Doomben, settling further back than planned then being forced to race four and five wide.

Despite that he fought on well to be beaten only 2.9 lengths.

Jackson Morris, who has ridden Mightysui twice for a fourth at the Gold Coast and a win at Ipswich, is back aboard.

"Jackson rides the horse well and he will not be afraid to take off and make a sustained run if he thinks it is necessary," Crane said.
