Date set for court but Metgasco, govt still talk settlement

A DATE has been set for the showdown between Metgasco and the State Government.

The Supreme Court case will be heard on October 21 and 22.

Metgasco is also pursuing an out-of-court settlement with the government, claiming the licence suspension was unlawful and unjustified and had severely damaged its interests.

"The government's actions have severely damaged investor confidence in the gas industry... It is important that the poor precedent created by the suspension decision is corrected," CEO Peter Henderson said.
