Stories from 'Around The World'

A culmination of this terms English unit in Stage 1 at St. Brigid's Kyogle was presented to parents, students and staff this week in the School Hall.

The unit was called 'Stories from Around the World'. Students explored story telling traditions and how they may be used to pass on important cultural knowledge. They discussed the role of the storyteller and studied stories in society.

Stage 1 students then went on to write their life story in a writing piece called 'It's My Life'. They researched and planned their writing piece. Finding answers, for questions such as 'where were they born?', 'what languages do they speak?', 'where did their ancestors come from?'.

The Hall was then transformed into an author's circle and with great pride, humour and armed with amazing stories,

Stage 1 wowed the audience with their 'Stories from Around the World'.

Impressive work from our young writers!
