McDonald's puts lamb on the menu

MCDONALD's is about to add Australia's favourite meat to its menu for the first time with the launch of two new lamb products.

Celebrating the nation's love of lamb, McDonald's brings consumers The Serious Lamb Burger and The Serious Lamb Taster wrap - available in restaurants nationwide from Wednesday.

"Lambassador" Sam Kekovich commends McDonald's has thrown his support behind the move.

"We're a nation of lamb lovers, so it's good to see Macca's taking note," he said.

"Whether it's a roast with the family or some chops on the barbie, lamb is a national icon.

"A McDonald's lamb burger - you know it makes sense!"

The new lamb pattie is made with 100% Australian lamb combined with other quality Aussie favourites.

The Serious Lamb Burger has a lamb pattie, tomato, beetroot, aioli, ketchup, onion and a freshly cracked egg.

The Serious Lamb Taster incorporates some of the delicious flavours from burger, but in wrap form.

"This is a big launch for McDonald's Australia, and we're bringing lamb to the menu in a way that only Macca's can," McDonald's Australia vice president director of marketing Madeleine Fitzpatrick said.

"Aussies are very particular about how they like their lamb and at Macca's we have been developing and perfecting the two new products for over 18 months to ensure we get the combination of flavours and quality ingredients in these new home-style products just right."
