Maybe mayors to meet Wardell residents

WARDELL residents keen to hear what Ballina's next mayor can do for them won't want to miss the next local progress association meeting.

The Wardell Progress Association will has invited all mayoral candidates to its scheduled meeting this Thursday in the Wardell Memorial Hall at 7pm.

"The purpose of the meeting is for anyone from the Ballina Shire to meet prospective mayoral candidates who have all indicated that they will attend," association president Pat Carney said.

"There they can hear candidates' views as to the direction that they believe the council should head in the next 4 years.

"Also attending the meeting will be those candidates who are standing for C Ward - these candidates represent the Alstonville and Wardell areas.

There will be an opportunity for those in attendance to ask questions.

Any inquiries should be directed to Pat Carney on 0408 834 362.
