Former partner denies killing socialite

THOMAS Chris Lang has denied killing Brisbane socialite Maureen Boyce, on the opening day of his murder trial.

Her former partner entered a plea of not guilty in the Brisbane Supreme Court today, before the jury was empanelled.

Ms Boyce's body was found at her Kangaroo Point unit on October 22, 2015, with a knife embedded in her stomach.

Lang was charged with the 68-year-old's murder the following day.

Lang's matter was scheduled to be heard in the Brisbane Supreme Court over eight days.
