Maryborough's holy man on a Harley

MARYBOROUGH’S holy man on a Harley, Pastor Stephen Jobe, has found his home at the Maryborough City Church.

He has been a pastor for 20 years and in that time has travelled around Queensland and met many people.

“You’ve just got to try and help everyone that you can,” he said.

As well as leading his congregation, Pastor Jobe enjoys a good ride on his 2002 Harley Davidson Heritage Soft Tail.

“It’s good to get out there and have a ride,” he said.

“I try to catch up with other pastors in the area as much as possible; we’re good mates.”

Pr Jobe has followed in his father’s footsteps to Maryborough, as he was the pastor at the Maryborough City Church in 1966.

“It’s a beautiful town,” he said.

After moving here more than nine years ago Pr Jobe has fallen more for the heritage city.

He admits though that there are many challenges in Maryborough and not always enough people to help.

“It’s almost a case of having to be in two places at once,” he said.

“Although it’s good to face the challenges.”

Pr Jobe enjoys many aspects of Maryborough, even though his work can often be challenging.

“It’s a great town for families,” he said.

“Even though at times we can all be stretched.”

Pr Jobe tries to live his life through a strong connection with Jesus.

“I want to live by the Bible,” he said.

“That includes living by very high moral standards.”

All are welcome to attend church services held at the Maryborough City Church at 9.30am on Sundays.
