Mandy’s temple is a clean and tidy one in new book
COMEDIAN and author Mandy Nolan is an obsessive cleaner and decorating guru.
Her latest book, Home Truths, is a testament to her obsession with the places we live in.
"People always go to my house and comment on how tidy it is," she said.
"I think people assume I am one of those chaotic types of people because of my nature.
"I am actually the opposite.
"I am obsessive about everything being clean and tidy. I can't work until everything is clean and put away."
We asked her what her dream home would look like, and she said: "My dream home is one that I could hose down.
"Everything will have to have water proofing and once a year I'll hose the whole house.
"Don't you ever want to walk into your home and fire-hose everything?"
This obsessive tidier and expert decorator gained her skills in a string of houses shared with housemates or partners over the years.
Mandy said writing this book made some of her old friends uneasy.
"A lot of girls I lived with in my shared house were terrified," she said.
"I quite like the little bit of nervousness people have thinking that their lives will be exposed in some way."
Home Truths is out now via Finch Publishing.
