Mancini might fork out for new talent during transfer period

MANCHESTER City boss Roberto Mancini's record at the club shows he does not buy much in the transfer window.

But even he might have to dip his toe in the water to strengthen his squad this month.

Mancini will lose three players - Yaya Toure, Colo Toure and Abdul Razak to the African Cup of Nations, while the likes of Micah Richards, Jack Rodwell and Aleksandar Kolarov are all sidelined with injury.

When asked if he would make signings the Italian replied: "Probably. We might have a problem."

Clubs have until the end of January to make buy or sell players before the window closes.
