Man freed from wreck

UPDATE 1.45pm: THE WESTPAC Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter is returning to Lismore after it was not needed to transport an elderly man who rolled his car at Ocean Shores.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said the man was trapped in his vehicle for about 30 mins after it rolled on Langi Pl at about 12.30pm.
He was stabilised at the scene by paramedics and the helicopter retrieval team before being transported by road ambulance to Tweed Heads hospital.

1.10pm: EMERGENCY services personnel are working to free an elderly man who is trapped in his car after it rolled at Ocean Shores.

Paramedics were called to a single vehicle crash on Langi Pl about 12.30pm.

When they arrived they found an elderly man had rolled his car and was trapped in the vehicle by his legs.

The Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter took off from Lismore at 1pm bound for the crash scene.

Arrangements have been made for the helicopter to land on the practice range at the Ocean Shores golf course to transport the man to hospital.
