Man stable after surgery for gunshot wound

YET another victim of Sydney's gun violence has undergone surgery.

Nurses at Westmead Hospital called police when a 21-year-old man fronted the emergency department with a gunshot wound to his leg late Monday.

Doctors operated on the young man's right calf and he remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Detectives interviewed the victim and searched two areas but a crime scene has not been identified.
