Man stabbed at Ballina caravan park. Attacker on the run
POLICE are hunting a man who stabbed another man five times with a 30cm knife at a Ballina caravan park overnight.
Lismore police Inspector Nicole Bruce about 10:30pm a man entered a cabin at Cedars caravan park on River St armed with a knife.
"There was an altercation with the victim, who received five lacerations," she said.
"The injuries weren't life threatening but the victims was transported to hospital."
The alleged offender fled the scene and an Ambulance was called.
A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics were called to an address on the Old Pacific Highway at Ballina at 10:40pm.
When they arrived they found a 49-year-old man suffering multiple styab wounds to the upper body.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition.
Insp Bruce said the offender is described as being a Caucasian man in his early 20's with short sandy blonde hair and sores on his face.
At the time the man wasn't wearing a shirt and had long dark pants on.
