Man shot with antique gun

A MAN has been wounded after an antique revolver was accidentally fired at Lillian Rock.

Police from the Richmond Local Area Command said a man was showing a friend two handguns dating back to 1830 when one of them went off, hitting a 46-year-old Queensland man in the right upper arm.

The injured man was taken to Nimbin Hospital before being transferred to Lismore Base Hospital for treatmwent.

Police said neither of the antique weapons was registered and officers investigating the incident had seized them both.

The owner of the guns, a 59-year-old man, was helping officers with their inquiries.
