Man killed in chainsaw accident at Isis River

A 48-YEAR man from Isis River has died after he was hit by a gum tree while chainsawing at his private property on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to the Aerodrome Rd property at about 6.40pm Saturday where the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 48-year-old had suffered a severe head injury, it is believed the tree he was cutting down fell on top of him.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the man was last scene by others at the rural property about 2pm Saturday and it was unclear exactly what time the incident occurred.

Childers police confirmed they were investigating the incident but at this stage it appeared to be accidental.
