Man facing extradition over murder

HOMICIDE detectives have travelled to Brisbane to seek the extradition of a man wanted over the murder of his girlfriend who died in her Sydney home this week.

On Monday night, 31-year-old Rachelle Yeo was found lying in her Northern Beaches unit with critical injuries. She died at the scene.

The car belonging to her 44-year-old partner was found parked at the Newcastle Airport yesterday morning.

Queensland Police arrested the man at Brisbane Airport later in the day.

Sydney detectives have applied to escort the man back to NSW where he is expected to be charged with murder.
