Alleged drug cook arrested 10-months after police raid

A MAN wanted by police over the alleged manufacture of illicit drugs has been arrested on the Coffs Coast and appeared in court today. 

Police say ongoing investigations by officers attached to the Mid North Coast Local Area Command saw a search warrant executed on a Newee Creek Rd property at Newee Creek on June 12, last year. 

Police allege officers located the following items during the raid:

- Equipment used in the alleged manufacture of drugs
- Chemicals
- Pseudoephedrine
- A motor vehicle believed to be stolen
- Cash
- Scales
- Mobile telephones
- And documents

All items were seized for forensic examination, police said. 

On Friday, around 11.30am police inquiries led officers to arrest a man, 44, on Riverside Dr, Nambucca Heads.

He was taken to Macksville Police Station, where he was charged with 12 offences including possess equipment with intent to manufacture prohibited drug, possess precursors, and dealing with proceeds of crime.

The man appeared in a brief court hearing in the Coffs Harbour Local Court today where bail was refused.

He is due to reappear on Tuesday.
