Man dies in back of cab despite efforts to save him

A MAN aged in his 30s has died in the back of a taxi in the Brisbane suburb of Wynnum.

Police said that at 8.53pm a taxi driver attended the front counter of the Wynnum Police Station to report his passenger was unconscious in rear of the vehicle.

Officers attended the taxi parked outside in Pine Street where they located the man who appeared not to be breathing.

Police commenced CPR until paramedics arrived but the man was pronounced deceased a short time later.
A crime scene has been established.

Police said on Thursday morning they would prepare a report for the coroner following the non-suspicious death.
