Man dead in apparent toxic street drug overdose

TOXIC street drugs are being blamed for one death and a string of overdoses on the NSW Central Coast over the weekend.

Paramedics could not revive a man believed to have taken LSD at his home at Gosford on Saturday night.

Later in the evening a teenage boy, also believed to have taken LSD, ran across a road and was hit by a car.

Inspector Woolsley said police believed a number of users in the area suffered adverse affects after taking LSD on the weekend.

He said it was a timely reminder those who took drugs were not only breaking the law, but also risking their lives.
