Man in critical condition after Whian Whian logging incident

A MAN has been seriously injured in a logging incident on a private property at Whian Whian, east of Nimbin, today.

About 1:15pm, emergency services were called to the property off Whian Whian Road after a man was hit on the head by a falling tree branch.

The man sustained serious head injuries and was airlifted to Gold Coast Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A crime scene has been established and will be examined by specialist forensic officers and police from Richmond Local Area Command.

WorkCover NSW has also been notified and investigations into the incident are continuing.
