Man charged over drug possession, driving under influence

A 41-year-old man has been charged after being found in possession of drugs and driving under the influence in Casino.

At 2.10am today, police patrolling Centre St, Casino pulled over a NSW registered vehicle, and as a result of the 41-year-old drivers actions, police said, he was submitted to a roadside random drug test and his vehicle was searched.

During the search police said they found a small resealable plastic bag with a quantity of drugs.

The man tested positive for methylamphetamine, and police arrested him.

He was taken to Lismore Police Station for further tests, and was charged him with driving under the influence of drugs and drug possession.
