Tweed man's accused shooter faces court

THE man accused of shooting Russell Johnstone, from Tweed Heads, appeared just briefly in court on Wednesday. 

Dallin James Kruithoff, 24, of Mount Gravatt East appeared in Cleveland Magistrates Court, following an extensive investigation into the shooting of the Tweed man in February.

Kruithoff will reappear in court on December 1.

A QUEENSLAND man has been charged with murder after the shooting of a 24-year-old Tweed Heads man in February.

Tweed man Russell Johnstone was found with gunshot wounds on Jarrow St, Tingalpa about 3.30am February 6.

Mr Johnstone was taken to the Princess Alexandria Hospital, but died four days later.

A 24-year-old man from Mount Gravatt East faced Cleveland Magistrates Court on Wednesday, charged with murder. 

Detective Inspector Owen Elloy said the arrest follows an extensive investigation.

"Today's development is the culimination of six months of intense investigations by members of the Cleveland and Wynnum Criminal Investigation Branches and State Crime Command's Homicide Squad," Detective Inspector Elloy said.
