Man charged with attempted murder after alleged stabbing

POLICE have charged a 30-year-old Susan River man with attempted murder following an incident in Urraween on Saturday.

About 2am, police were called to a Coongul Crt residence following reports of a disturbance.

Police will allege that a 27-year-old woman was inside the home with stab wounds to her face and neck and a 32-year-old man was found in a neighbouring backyard with stab wounds to the head.

The man and woman were taken to the Hervey Bay Hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Police said the Susan River man had been charged with two counts of attempt to murder and wilful damage and was due to appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Monday, November 3.
