Man bites off another man's fingertip in serious assault

POLICE are investigating a serious assault that occurred late last night in a carpark at Maroochydore.

At around 11.15pm a man entered a carpark of a fast food store on Horton Parade where he approached two men.

An altercation began where the man has bitten-off the tip of one man's finger and  then assaulted the other man, causing injuries to his face and hand.

The man left on foot, along Horton Parade.

A 29-year-old man was taken to Nambour General Hospital for treatment of his injury and a 28-year-old man was treated at the scene.

A window at the entrance of the business was also damaged during the altercation.

There is not further information available at this stage. Investigations are continuing.
