Man arrested over attack that left victim with brain injury

LISMORE police have arrested an 18-year old Lismore man following an assault on Sunday morning which left his brother, a 23 year-old man, with a fractured skull and brain injury.

Inspector Cameron Lindsay from Richmond Local Area Command said the incident occurred around 2.50am on Sunday morning outside the Lismore Uniting Church on the corner of Woodlark and Keen streets.  

Police have CCTV footage from the incident and will allege that during the assault, the victim fell backwards and hit his head on the pavement.

The offender was granted conditional bail and will appear at Lismore Local Court on November 11.
