Man accused of sending child's details to sex offender

A NORTH Ipswich man charged with allegedly sending personal details of a school child to a known child sex offender has had his matter mentioned in court.

Joshua Peter Bilyj, 19, was charged on November 2, 2015 with using a restricted computer without consent to cause detriment, damage or gain.

The alleged offence took place on July 23, 2015

Mr Bilyj is accused of accessing the private information via a teacher's kiosk at St Edmunds College in Woodend.

He then allegedly sent personal details of the student - including a photo, name, address and date of birth - to a third party who has previously been convicted of child sex offences.

His legal representative sought an adjournment on Monday in Ipswich Magistrates Court.

The matter was adjourned until February 15.
