Missing Toowoomba man found safe and well in NSW

UPDATE:  A 97-year-old Toowoomba man who was reported missing from a hotel in Surfers Paradise has been located.

Emile Matile was reported missing on Thursday.

Mr Matile was found safe and well about 4pm today.

He has been staying at a hotel in NSW.

EARLIER: A 97-year-old Toowoomba man is missing and could be on his way to Sydney.

Emile Matile was reported missing from a hotel in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast on Thursday.

Emile, who may also go by the name George, has not been seen since.

Queensland Police released his image and called on anyone with information on his whereabouts to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

"Police hold concerns for his welfare due to his age and believe he could be travelling to Sydney."

Emile was last seen wearing a red cardigan and straw hat with a green band, as pictured.

He was last seen at an accommodation place on the corner of Surfers Paradise Boulevard and Hanlan Street.
