Malaysian travel writers to visit

CASINO'S Beef Week has caught the curious eyes of a group of Malaysian journalists, who will visit the meaty festival this weekend.

Northern Rivers Tourism chief executive Russell Mills said the visit by five Malaysian travel writers and bloggers was part of a tourism campaign designed to attract travellers from Malaysia and Singapore.

“The campaign is a significant part of a long-term marketing strategy to present our region to travellers as an authentic holiday experience in a uniquely accessible part of regional Australia,” Mr Mills said.

Beef Week president Stuart George promised the party would be treated as “honorary locals”.
