Mal riders perform well

THE 32nd Annual Byron Bay Malibu Classic was held on the weekend of April 27-29, in what could be described as 'testing' conditions at Wategos Beach, with 150 competitors.

The Evans Head contestants performed very well as usual, with this contest bringing together the best longboarders surfing divisions: Open; Age; Women; Juniors; Old Mal and for first-round losers, a mystery event.

Evans Head results were Ken Miles 2nd O/65, Phil Roxburgh 3rd Old Mal 0/40, Mike Seller 6th O/30, Merc 6th O/50 and 5th Old Mal O/40, with Matt Moyle 2nd in the O/30.
