Major police operation arrests 14 for antisocial behavior

A THREE day cross-border police operation that saw just 14 people arrested has been declared a success by police.

Operation Mike Moment saw Australian Federal Police, the NSW Police Force, and the Queensland Police Service target antisocial behaviour on the southern Gold Coast area.

Coolangatta Inspector Greg Baade said 14 people had been arrested on 24 charges as a consequence of the operation. He said while drug, traffic and anti-social offences had been targeted, but no assaults and only one public nuisance had been reported.

"We see it as a positive. We were obviously on the lookout for these things and they weren't happening. That's a great thing for the community," he said.
