Main Arm man charged with attempted murder

POLICE have arrested a Main Arm man over the attempted murder of two men in his home town last year.

Sergeant Dave Rose of police media said officers were called to Main Arm Community Hall on December 21, 2012, following reports of a serious assault.

When emergency services arrived they found a 37-year-old man and a 47-year-old man suffering serious injuries after allegedly being attacked.

The two men were treated at the scene before being taken to Tweed hospital in a serious condition.

An extensive investigation led to the arrest of a 26-year-old Main Arm man yesterday.

Detectives took the man to Byron Bay police station where he was charged with two counts of attempted murder.

He was refused bail and will appear in Lismore Local Court today.
