Magellan St to turn two-way? No way!

THE PROSPECT of Lismore's Magellan St returning to two-way traffic has raised the ire of Lismore City councillor Vanessa Ekins.

Cr Ekins started a Facebook page opposing the idea last week which has since attracted more than 50 followers, including fellow councillor Simon Clough.

"Turning Magellan St back into a two way street strikes me as ludicrous," Cr Ekins said.

The two-way proposal emerged from a CBD Masterplan workshop last year, but has not gone before council and has no formal status.

The concept will go before the Lismore Business Promotion Panel in March, who will make a recommendation to council.
