McDonalds to trial all you can eat fries: good move or bad?
A MCDONALDS store in America is going to trial all you can eat fries.
A new $1.59 million "future" Maccas store, currently being built in St. Joseph, Missouri, will have kiosks with an option for all you can eat french fries.
Owner of the franchise, Chris Habieger told a press conference the kiosks will enhance customer service.
"There really are hundreds of different choices to build the burger of your dreams. Once you've placed your order, you can find your seat because we'll bring it out to you."
Even the deserts will be customisable.
Mr Habieger said a lot has changed for McDonalds in the last 40 years. Customers' food choices have evolved.
"Today's customers seek a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. So we're committed to providing a modern look and feel to this restaurant."
The restaurant will have couches and arm chairs, "larger-than-life" kiosks and a play place with multi-storey play equipment and interactive light board tables and table top video games.
If successful, it has been reported all you can eat fries will be introduced in other stores and countries.
