IT'S the most eagerly awaited Alfa Romeo so far this century, and we now know it's coming to Australia next February.
The rear-wheel drive Giulia sports sedan arrives in a matter of weeks, launched in four trims: Giulia, Super, Veloce and hot Quadrifoglio (QV).
The latter is a genuine BMW M3 and Merc-AMG C63 hunter, boasting a 375kW twin-turbo V6 which hits 100kmh in 3.9-seconds and on to over 300kmh.
And for those who enjoy such things, Alfa says the QV holds the current Nurburgring production sedan lap record at 7min 32sec.
The entry-level Giulia is no slouch either, using a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder producing 147kW and 330Nm, hitting 100kmh in 6.6 seconds. You also score leather, 18-inch wheels, sat nav, dual-zone climate and rear camera as standard.
A 2.2-litre diesel engine with 147kW/330Nm is found in the Super, returning just 4.2L/100km combined.
Pricing will be announced closer to February's launch.
