Local teachers honoured
TWO Northern Rivers teachers have been honoured with lifetime memberships at the NSW Teachers’ Federation annual conference today.
Margaret Brace from Kyogle High School and Bruce Duckett from Alstonville High School were awarded the membership by Federation president Bob Lipscombe.
Only 11 teachers were given the honour this year, which is presented for “outstanding service to public education and the NSW Teachers’ Federation”.
Six hundred teachers from across the state have travelled to Sydney for the conference.
These include teachers employed in public schools, TAFE colleges, adult migrant education and corrective services.
