Local surfers in the mix at FNC Regional Titles
SOME of the best local junior surfers will be in competition this weekend when Lennox Head hosts the Far North Coast Regional Titles.
The two-day event will see over 60 surfers between Tweed Heads and Wooli compete.
FNC has a number of talented surfers in the mix including Kyuss King, Mikey McDonagh, Jack O’Brien and Nyxie Ryan.
Lennox Head surfer Stu Kennedy came through the junior ranks and is currently on the World Surf League tour and working with Surfing NSW this year.
“The level of surfing has always been high in this region, even spanning back to my days as a junior trying to qualify for the state titles,” Kennedy said.
“Since then, the level has continued to rise and the talent pool has got deeper and deeper and there are so many incredible surfers in the region.
“It should make for some pretty solid viewing and some epic battles.”
Surfers are competing for a chance to qualify for the Ocean and Earth NSW Junior Titles.
It will be a fully mobile event and could move to Ballina depending on the swell at Lennox Head.
