THE bowls world was in shock at the news of the sudden death of Kevin Soward while on holidays in Germany.

Kevin, 78, devoted most of his life to administration of our sport - he was president of Zone One, past president, current deputy president and life member of the Northern Rivers district.

Kevin was also a life member of Nimbin where he lived all his life.

A memorial service, attended by many who paid tribute to his work over the years, was held yesterday at Goonellabah.
