Two men charged on firearms and drug offences

TWO men are facing court on firearms and drug offences after a loaded pistol was seized in Lismore on Friday night.

Police searched a car in Rugby Lane and found a loaded 32 calibre revolver and cannabis. Two men, aged 28 and 29, were arrested and taken to Lismore Police Station.

The 28-year-old Bexhill man was charged with possessing a loaded firearm in a public place, possessing an unregistered pistol, not keeping a firearm safe, and possessing a prohibited drug. He was remanded in custody until October 20.

The 29-year-old man was charged with possessing a prescribed restricted substance.
