The best 11 and 12-year-old kids All-Star Little League teams from around Australia arrived in Lismore earlier this week.

It is in its eighth year with an opening ceremony, entertainment and fireworks tonight.

Competition officially starts tomorrow with 280 players packing the complex. The championship is sponsored by Bendigo Bank and supported by Destination NSW and Lismore City Council.

"I'm delighted that Lismore will be abuzz with more than 280 young baseball players and their families and club officials from all over Australia for this exciting event," Lismore mayor Jenny Dowell said.

"I'm sure that locals will enjoy seeing these youngsters from 20 teams play at Albert Park too."
