Little athletes warm up

LITTLE athletes gathered at Evans River K-12 school oval over a week ago to mark the beginning of the third year of Little Ath

letics in Evans Head.

There were 25 children, each having turns at discus, modified javelin, running and long jump.

President Teena Redman said the ages ranged from three to 13 years.

"We only had eight last year and this year so far we have 25," she said. "It shows how popular it is this season.

"We are also looking for more committee members, parents and people to help run the events."

If you have a child interested in Little Athletics or you are interested in helping out, you can turn up at the school oval at 4.30pm on a Monday afternoon.
