Lismore's Relay for Life to launch with glitzy event

THE 2016 Lismore and Villages Relay For Life will be launched in style at the Bling's The Thing gala variety night a the Star Court Theatre. 

The evening is about "bling" and lots of it, the committee behind the Relay for Life said.

Compered by the outrageously funny Mandy Nolan and the ever-entertaining Michael Gates, Bling's The Thing will be a variety show packed full of superb local vocalists, musicians and incredible dancers, including performances by some of the local Stars of Lismore Dance for Cancer standouts.

There will be an auction and raffles, along with crowning the person with the "blingiest" outfit, Chairperson for the 2016 Lismore and Villages Relay For Life, Craig Beck said.

"We hope you can join us for our launch night at Lismore's iconic Star Court Theatre. It promises to be an evening big on talent, big on fun and of course, big on bling!" Mr Beck said.

"Come and join the party. You'll be supporting a wonderful cause while having a fabulous night out."

This fundraiser for the Lismore and Villages Relay For Life 2016 will kick off the five month countdown to the Relay For Life in Lismore, Community Engagement Manager for Cancer Council Northern NSW, Abby Wallace said.

"This event is something completely different and it's going to be a whole lot of fun," Ms Wallace said.

"It will be an opportunity to sign up your team for the Relay, meet likeminded community members, enjoy some great local talent and delicious food."

Bling's The Thing will be held at the Star Court Theatre Lismore on Saturday November 7 from 6.30pm. 

Tickets are $38 with all proceeds going to Cancer Council NSW and the 2016 Lismore and Villages Relay For Life

All are welcome and tickets can be purchased either in person or online from the Star Court Theatre.
